The Dream Tree opened on July 1, 2010 at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts in Hailey, Idaho. Installed on the largest conifer at the Pound/McKercher House, birthplace of poet Ezra Pound, The Dream Tree is a collective unconscious dream journal for Hailey, Idaho. The public is invited to create community by recording their dreams in the books. Participants may write everyday or periodically. During sleep our bodies recover and rejuvenate, yet our minds are active. Dreams offer a unique source of meaning in our lives. Magical, daunting, stressful or insightful, they are rich with juxtaposed, random and odd events. The installation continues through September 3, 2010.
