The Series, Medititations on an Open Book, is comprised of etchings and mezzotints derived from a small Ethiopian Coptic bound book hand made by the artist. The etchings explore quiet observations of the Idaho landscape aligned with images Jill selected for the power of metaphor or poetic value. The majestic scale of the land is realized intimately through small scale imagery and the clarity characteristic of the etching process.
